Radio 1 website contains lots of features for all ages, including podcasts, videos and games, where the games have been designed to suit all ages.On the Chris Moyles website there is a an area where you can dowload the podcasts from the previous week also along with the list of podcasts is a tracklist to each of them, allowing the audience to chose whether to download the podcast based on the music instead of them not knowing until they listen. The tracklist allows you to click on the song and play 30 seconds of it which is very helpful for al audiences as they can click on and decide if the music Chris Moyles plays suits them or to discover new bands, this would be a good sourceful place to start. I think this a clever feature of their website and having a tracklist would certainly help my decision which one to download along with the topics they spoke about that day and the guests they interviewed.
Classic FM - on their youtube channel have a mixture of songs from famous films. They are known for broadcasting classical music and having a target audience of mainly 35-54, but trying to reach into the younger classical music listeners.
With the informtion that they are trying to break into a larger audience I think this is why they have created a facebook page and a youtube channel playing music such as Pirates Of The Caribbean and other famous favourite films. To show the younger audiences that some of their favourite theme tunes are in the classic genre and that this is the style of their radio station and not just aimed at an older generation.
however their channel hasnt been updated in 2 years so therefore cant be as popular as hoped with most of the videos having less that 5000 views apart from one with 22000 views.
For our shows we have created a facebook page named Phresh FM where we have created videos and uploaded the links onto YouTube where we also have our own page, we have used these pages to keep our audience updated with playlists, guests, what features and what to expect from our show, along with an advertisement for our morning show! Also when we are on the radio we will ask our audience to log onto Phresh FM Facebook page to leave their comments and answers to quizzes. We will also create an area on our page dedicated to Children In Need reminding our audience about stratford college and providing them with facts so we can be trusted as a useful site.
